Cristian Cealera

Cristian Cealera graduated from the Faculty of Law, University of Bucharest in 2020 and subsequently he became a member of the Bucharest Bar Association.

During his time as a student, Cristian has participated in various competitions, the most renowned of them being “Hexagonul Facultăților de Drept, 2019”, the Civil Law section.

Cristian joined our team in September 2021 and is now focusing on improving his knowledge in the area of intellectual property and litigation.

Cristian is also coordinating seminars of Civil Law and Intellectual Property Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Bucharest.

In 2023, Cristian has participated as a National Correspondent (Romania) in the project: Trade Secrets litigations trends in the EU, commissioned by the European Union Intellectual Property Office.

The most significant projects in which Cristian has been involved include:

• advising one of the global leaders in the tobacco sector in patent matters;
• advising a major pharmaceutical manufacturer in pre-litigation preparations with respect to the potential infringement of its supplementary protection certificate concerning a biological drug;
• advising a major generic pharmaceutical manufacturer in pre-litigation preparations;
• providing assistance to a global leader in the pharmaceutical sector on matters relating to patent enforcement in Romania;
• assisting a biopesticides manufacturer in prosecution proceedings concerning its supplementary protection certificate;
• advising a major international German player from the automotive industry with respect to Romanian laws on employee’s inventions;
• advising a top European automotive parts manufacturer on its defence strategy against infringement allegations grounded on a European Patent covering a lighting system for automotives;
• assisting a major oil company in multiple patent and trademark related litigations;
• providing assistance to one of the most reputed food and beverage manufacturers in Romania in trade mark related cases in front of EUIPO, General Court (European Union) and national courts;
• providing assistance to a proeminent figure in the global film production sector;
• assisting an important perfume manufacturer in trademark cases in front of the EUIPO;
• providing assistance to one of most reputed manufacturers of sweets in trademarks cases.
